"I feel like NSAI supports their members wherever they are along their songwriting journey.  From the content on their website to the ability to get song feedback from industry professionals, they have something for everyone who wants to improve their songs. NSAI was my first stop in Nashville and most of my songwriting community originated here."

"NSAI has been one of the greatest support networks for me as a songwriter. Living in Melbourne, Australia, NSAI gave me the ability to connect across the globe with fellow songwriters, pitch opportunities, and mentoring sessions through Skype. In 2019, I was fortunate to have spent three months in Nashville. During this time I attended NSAI Song Camp where we were put into groups with other songwriters. I can honestly say NSAI offers next-level value for your membership."

At age 13, I became an NSAI member at my local NSAI Chapter in Kansas City. From that room in a dusty old church, I learned what it means to be a songwriter. Monthly meetings brought me song feedback, insight into the industry in Nashville and friendships I still cherish. I would not have been as prepared as I was to move to Nashville and study songwriting at Belmont University if I hadn’t attended Advanced Songwriting Camp, Pitch to Publisher, Tin Pan South, and the many other wonderful NSAI events. NSAI is a community that cherishes and champions writers. They are the cheerleader in our victories and the mentor in our time of need.

"NSAI has been an instrumental launching pad to accelerate my songwriting. In just one year, I've built relationships with folks who will probably be co-writers for life. I've leveled up in terms of volume and skill based on professional feedback and diversifying my pool of collaborators. The well-connected staff have been invaluable mentors and guidance counselors for navigating "Music City." Most importantly, as an artist, I've gotten closer to finding my unique voice. The nominal price of an annual membership is beyond worth it for songwriters at any stage."

My NSAI membership has enhanced my growth through networking, providing new ideas, song evaluation feedback and the importance of perspective when songwriting.  I don’t have a degree in music but I have passion and a willingness to learn and work to be better.  Since joining NSAI and taking advantage of the amazing programs and support the membership offers, and the joy of being an NSAI Chapter Coordinator, I feel encouraged and because of that support system, music now colors my life – in everything I do.   Mentors always encourage me to be involved and give myself to the art and it would give back and they could not have been more correct.  We all know that music is a beautiful thing worth devoting time and life to, and that excellence takes hard work and a lot of determination – all things considered, NSAI is a pretty sound investment (and the returns just keep growing).

In 2017 I was listening to Blues, Bluegrass, and Country music. Even though I had never written a poem (or two lines that rhymed) in my life, I got this "crazy idea" to try to write lyrics. I started reading and listening to everything that I could find about songwriting. Then, I started writing. In October 2018 I joined NSAI. I have found the NSAI Song Evaluations service to be extremely valuable. I started submitting lyrics to NSAI evaluators, getting their feedback, making modifications, and submitting again. As a result, my lyrics have significantly improved (and I believe are more, "modern and pitchable"). I would highly encourage all songwriters to take advantage of NSAI Song Evaluations service.

I live near Great Lake Ontario.  Nashville is a 16 hour drive.  Yet, the people who work at NSAI bridge that distance - make me feel connected.   Frankly, I need that human connection, songwriting connection.   It gives me Hope.   Moreover I need NSAI.  Without it I don't have a prayer of ever becoming the Songwriter I wanna be.   Through Rise2021 I learned how Pro songwriters write, from Title/Idea to the finished song.  NSAI's Staff, Song Evaluators, Mentors, the Workshops, the Online Pitch to publisher opportunities, and the route to meeting potential Co-writers are all invaluable.  I count on and trust NSAI.  The more I stay engaged at NSAI, the harder I work, the luckier I get.   Yeah, Ben Franklin said the last half of that.   Sincerely, Ray Quinn

I give NSAI all the credit for my future #1's!  Without them I would not have met so many songwriters and good people in Nashville nor had a road map to follow and valuable lessons and knowledge learned along the way.

NSAI has been an asset to my songwriting that I started in 2021 late in my life. First of all they have a receptionist that we can call that will help to guide us through the "online pitch to publisher" opportunities or any other questions that we may have about navigating the site, etc. This is very important being that I don't live in the Nashville area and can't just stop in for answers. I can always rely on timely email responses from Jill Moody who is a true asset to NSAI with her vast knowledge of the music business. NSAI has a Certification course that I took remotely that answers a vast amount of questions about how we as songwriters need to navigate the music industry. The monthly zoom chapter meetings are great as you get to submit your song creations (often times just a work tape with vocals/guitar or piano, or a fully produced song) to share with the chapter members who are now my songwriting friends, and also get feedback if you want on your own songs or defer the feedback. They also have co-writing opportunities online or in person. It's an honor and an asset for me to belong to NSAI.

"Being a part of NSAI has been so worth it, not only for connecting me to my songwriting community locally, but also worldwide! It has been so encouraging to connect with other creative songwriters! Plus the NSAI team is super friendly and helpful!"

For the past 2+ years, NSAI has been instrumental in helping me along my song crafting journey. Face to face coaching from publishers at seminars, Song Camp, and Pro songwriters in the NSAI offices have accelerated my skills far beyond what I could have ever done on my own. The staff, online and in person, are always at the ready to help and make members feel welcome. And that goes for songwriters at every level from first songs to major cuts. Thank-You NSAI!

I have been a chapter coordinator for maybe three years, but I have been an NSAI member off and on for around thirty years.  While my songwriting "career" has had it's ups and downs, NSAI has always been a place to network, find co-writers, and to grow in the craft of songwriting.  If you are not a member check us out and join.  If you are a member, keep pushing.  Remember, persistence furthers.

“The NSAI is a great resource for new and seasoned songwriters alike. I’ve been a member for about a decade now and I’m so grateful for the friends I’ve made and for what I’ve learned by attending workshops and trainings. I admire the NSAI's commitment to fight for songwriter’s rights down in Washington and to continue to push this industry forward. Most importantly, being part of this organization has provided me the opportunity to become a better songwriter - and I’m not sure what’s more valuable than that.”

One of the benefits of being an NSAI member I find outstanding is having access to the “online video library” as it’s full of informative songwriting “to-do’s” and testimonials from those who have “done-it”.

I always look forward to our monthly chapter meetings. It's a great opportunity to try out new songs and get immediate feedback on what's working (or not) from other songwriters who get to know each other's styles over the months. Thanks NSAI!
